My father died 2 weeks ago and he had a barclays personal loan in his name. Is my mother liable to pay the loan off for him? The account was in joint names but my father;s name has now been removed but their is about 5,000 left of the loan to pay off. Can they force my mum to pay this off?
no, i think everyone is missing the point….the currant account was in both of their names, but the loan account was in my fathers name only…

Because of personal issues i have gone through i have gotten behind on several unsecured loans with all the late fees adding to over the limit fees my accounts have gotten way out of reach i’ve tried reasoning with the collection agencies on partial payments but to no avail. My loans probably reach no more than 8000 give or take. Does anyone out there got a game plan for me so i can get my life back on track seriously i dont make enough to pay this loan off….what can i do should i file bankruptcy are there any programs out there that will help single parents like me? please help or should i just tell them to stop calling me and do jail time ?

If you have a loan from the bank and want to purchase something or pay for certain expenses, how do you get a certified cheque? Currently I only have a personal cheque and that’s not acceptable as payment. What are my options? Is it even possible?
I can pay for the certified cheque fee, of course. However, I don’t have money to pay the bank upfront since it is a loan from them.
Open Question: Can someone explain to me why I would ever vote for Obama or any onther liberal?

I really tired of people calling me racist or ignorant for not wanting Obama to be my president. So I am ready for some input of why I should want Obama based solely on personal reason. My parents took a huge risk and were absolutely broke for a long time starting a health insurance company and now they are being run out of business by the government. I spent a ton of money going to one of the top schools of the country (Trinity University, in San Antonio) worked my @$$ off to graduate with honors only to find myself graduating probably with no job or maybe I will get a job but have to pay back a ton of taxes. I was in the Air Force for a while and a ton of my friends are in the war right now and one got shot because even the though the war continues, the funding is being cut because we are spending money on other important issues like Cash for Clunkers, suing Arizona and running my parents out of business. So I am guessing I should just say…. yeah my parents took huge risk for nothing I took out all these loans and busted my ass in school for nothing and my friends are dead but w/e Obama is a great president. Some one please enlight my racist ignorant self.
This is for the crazy guy below:
“Fail! Fail! Fai!”
First sir, I am incredible surprised you know more about my life than I do! I mean everything I said was a lie!
Look up thesis on line “The Deformation of Panama with the migration of the Tripple Junction” authors Danny Davidson (Thats me!)Kristin Morrel, Tom Gardner, and Allison Teletzke
I went to the air force academy for a year and a half Squad 34 animalistic sky raiders Obama has voted as senator against funding the military you think as president he won’t cut their budget when we hit rock bottom?
My parents own hapiamerica small company in fortworth.
I will send ya my taxes I working for oil company right interning
Your argumentative fallacies are as follows:
Ad Hominem
Generalization
Poisioning the well
Dismissal
I am adding these two because it is kinda true
Pigheadedness and
Cliche thinging
Finally really my point of the question is that typical liberals can’t understand other povs thus you proving my point.

I personal support it. Before you go calling me racist read my question out. I’m in favor of anyone coming to the USA as long as you can speak English, pay taxes, pay for your own health care, don’t get loans interest free and come in legally.
Yes they could Reality because they were English dumba$$ Lib go drink more Obama kool-aid.
What bugs me the most is not paying for taxes and health care. I didn’t get a tax and interest free loan to start my business why should anyone else? No special treatment for one group.

Open Question: Witholding transcripts?

Hi all –
I wanted to see if anyone out there has possibly had a similar situation and what things (if anything) they were able to do. I have attended a private college for several years and received my Masters degree. I continued my education beyond my masters to get an endorsement. Needless to say, I acquired quite the student loan bill after attending a private college for so many years. (if there would hav been a public college close by I would have definitely done there). I registered for 2 classes (in August) and after registering for them I was told I had met my limit for student loans. I was given the option to pay for the classes over a period of 4 months or take out a personal loan. I let the financial aid dept. know I wouldn’t be taking the classes because I wouldn’t be able to afford their program and I did not want to take out a personal loan. I received a bill in September but I didn’t call because I just figured they were behind on paperwork, as this was the case with several other things with this university (just being understaffed and overworked probably). I received another bill in October. I called and I emailed the bursar’s office at this point. Again, I didn’t get any response back but got another bil in November. I called a different department then. It was at this time I was told that because I never came in and filled out a drop/add form that I was still financially responsible for those 2 classes. They did see where I emailed in October and they said I could receive ‘I’s’ instead of failing the classes but I still had to pay for them. The fact that I didn’t attend ANY of the classes didn’t matter because they can drop you for non-attendance but I guess you are still financially responsible. They told me that I had attended the college long enough to know the drop/add procedures; which yes, but that was when I was actually dropping and adding a class. I figured when you told a college you couldn’t pay for the classes and there was no payment plan prior to the first day of classes, that the classes would be automatically dropped. Now I have a 4,000 bill with this college and they are withholding my transcripts. I have spoken to the head of the university and he would not budge. Do I have anything I can do about this or do I just have to pay them 50 a month and wait to get my transcripts seven years from now. —– By the way, thanks to those who actually read this super long winded story:-)
